There is a strong connection between the power of the spoken word, and the power of a great song. Both art forms function to build bridges of expression from the artist into the community.
The Hamilton Youth Poetry Slam originated in 2012 as a safe (ie. non-embarassing and non-judgemental) environment for young people to learn what spoken word expression is all about.
