What: JUNO Awards Weekend kicks off with a celebrity fundraising hockey game in support of MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS. NHL Greats and Canadian musicians will face off in a fun, competitive, non-contact hockey game.

[Editor's note: We're glad to see the World of Sport serving the Music Biz. Too long it has been the other way around. Not to denigrate our athletes, but to simply even up the balance. 1) Think back to the Winter Olympics... all those musicians falling over each other to get their songs played on the CTV event review videos. Hey people it was those MUSIC videos that drove home to us the EMOTIONAL message that -- dammit -- we're proud of our athletes and all they do!! ... 2) Winter Olympics... all those athletes talking about soothing their nerves with an iPod streaming in their favourite song. We know that music is medicine. So do athletes! ... and 3) all those athletes talking about performance coaches that they work with... JEALOUSY! Musicians need and deserve performance coaches too. The MusiCounts charity that benefits from this hockey game is the thin end of the wedge, as we pry open the door for caring for our Artists in the same way we care for our Athletes!]
