April 2014 At The Acoustic Blend Cafe

Here's this month's news from Jason Hales, creator of Acoustic Blend Cafe:

Aaaaaahhhh, April! Bring on the warm weather! Things got heated up in March with Harris and Rock. With a stylish Celtic backdrop John Harris and Andy Rock brought on the Irish feel. It was a slow start due to technical difficulties but they played songs together, individually and also brought up some friends to fill out the Celtic sound with bass, fiddle and percussion. Both men were exceptional on the guitar performing standard Irish tunes as well as originals. The vocal harmonies were tight as was the group playing. Both were charming and funny and had the audience enthralled.

Speaking of vocal harmonies on April 26th Vine Tuned will show what it’s all about. This A Cappella group got it’s name from each member having a love for wine and wanting to perform at wineries. They are a four-part ensemble of professional voices. Their music can be wild and witty as well as deeply moving with powerful harmonies and tones. Vine Tuned is not just an A Cappella group but they are also soloists so half the evening will feature most members performing solos and duets from opera, musical theatre, jazz and rock with piano accompaniment from some other members of the group. Come out and watch some of their funny stage antics and listen to their banter or at least Nikki’s stories. It will be a fun evening that will thrill you, warm your heart and make you laugh.

Important notice: We are also in desperate need of volunteers. We’ve had some response but we still could fill more spots. For the last 4 seasons many of the same people have set up the room and run the evening. This year however schedules have changed, as they sometimes do, and they are not all available to do the task of setting up the room. If anyone is able to donate his or her time once or twice throughout the season, that means from 1 – 2 hours of set up and 4 - 5 hours of running the evening, then ABC will keep running. If there is no one available we will have to shut the season down. If you are able to help please send an email to acousticblendcafe@gmail.com . The next date is Saturday April 26. Details and procedures can be discussed.

We want your feedback. Any suggestions on what you like to see happen at ABC or any changes you’d like to see send us an email. We will read and consider everything.
The Acoustic Blend Cafe, affectionately known as ABC, helps to promote local performers, businesses and artists. Each event has an opening performer when possible and a feature performer. Following the feature is Open Mic where you can feel free to perform 1, 2, or 3 songs, read some poetry, do a magic trick or whatever you like to perform. It’s a great way to get exposure and work through you’re nerves. It’s also about learning and growing and being supportive to everyone who

It's always a good time at the Acoustic Blend Café!
